Grading Turnaround Times

Turnaround estimates come straight from the grading companies, and they’re just that...estimates. Sometimes orders run past the original ETA. It’s out of our hands, but we’ll always keep you posted. The clock starts when the grading company receives your cards from us, not the day you drop them off at the shop (but we send batches out weekly!).

Shipping

Every order includes shipping costs to get your cards safely to the grading company and back home to you.

Upcharges

Grading companies may add an upcharge if a card comes back worth more than the value it was submitted at. Great problem to have, but it means extra insurance is required for the trip back, and that cost gets passed along.

PSA High-Value Cards

PSA has 4 premium grading tiers for cards valued above the $9,999 maximum declared value. The highest level we offer is “Walkthrough” — so if your card grades into rarefied air beyond that, you may see upcharges above the Walkthrough level. Again, a good problem to have.

FAQS

How long does it take to grade a card?

Turnaround estimates come from the grading companies themselves, and their timer starts when they receive our submission, which builds in time for shipping, sorting, repacking, and grouping cards into bulk orders. Some orders run past the original estimate, so pack a little patience.

How do I submit my cards for grading?

Bring them into the shop. Cards should be in penny sleeves and card savers. Thicker cards can ride in top loaders or mag holders. You’ll fill out a quick submission form with your contact info and a list of what you’re sending (note serial numbers, parallels, short prints, and autos). Then you and one of our associates will take front-and-back photos of your cards with the form in the shot, so we both have a record of exactly what came in. One heads-up: please don’t include air tags or original Letters of Authenticity. If a COA needs to travel with a card, give us a copy — grading companies don’t always send them back.

How much does grading cost?

Check the price lists above for each company’s current rates. You’ll also owe for shipping plus any upcharges the grading company adds.

Do you clean cards before grading?

No, we never clean, wipe, or even touch the surface of your cards. They go out exactly as you hand them to us.

How do I get my cards back?

You’ll pick them up at our store (we don’t ship cards directly to your home).

Why did I get an upcharge?

Upcharges happen when a card turns out to be worth more than its declared value at submission. The grading company adds insurance for the trip back to us, and that cost passes through to you. Good news: it usually means your card is worth more than you thought.
